'MORNING TONES' REVIEW
Smallfish - 2007
Following on from work on 12x50 and Room40, Matt Rosner delivers an absolutely luscious slice of gently manipulated, gorgeously melodic music that uses organic elements (guitars etc) and wonderful electronic and field recording textures to convey a warm, friendly and just generally very beautiful piece of work. That said, there are moments of more challenge that really keep you engrossed and form a nice counterpoint to the softer sounds on offer. Think along the lines of Mountains' work and you'll be getting close to just how lovely this is. A highly recommended start to the year for this label which continues to be a Smallfish favourite.
